Enquiries about results

We carry out extensive quality checks before we issue results. However, you can submit enquiries about results if you would like us to check the results for particular candidates.

We offer a range of enquiries about results services depending on the type of check you would like us to make. The most common enquiry about results services involve either a review of the marking or a re-moderation.

There is an administrative fee for each enquiry. Details are in our fees list which is available from the 'My Messages' section of Direct. We will not charge the fee if the enquiry leads to a change to the syllabus grade.

You should submit any enquiries about results through Direct. The video and guides below will show you how to do this.

If you request a service that includes a copy of a script, our 'enquiries about results and marks on scripts' factsheet (PDF, 835KB) will help you to understand the marks and annotations you may see. It will also help you to understand:

• the different marking stages
• professional judgement and the use of tolerance
• the reasons why a candidate’s mark may or may not be changed following an enquiry about results.

Please remember

• You can only submit a review of components from the same syllabus as part of a single enquiry about results. We cannot accept additional component enquiries for the same candidate and syllabus at a later date.
• For each candidate, you can only submit all the components in the syllabus for the same post-results service. For example, you cannot request a Service 1S for one component and then a Service 2S for another component if they are components of the same syllabus.
