The College Board has chosen not to remove a series of false and misleading claims it has published about Cambridge International AS & A Level Psychology.
The misinformation has been signed by the College Board’s Development Committee, each of whom has been made aware that the statement they signed contains untrue claims.
Cambridge International has directly asked both the College Board and the members of its Development Committee to remove and correct the untrue claims. We are disappointed that they have chosen not to do so.
Contrary to the untrue claims published by the College Board, Cambridge International did not agree to Florida’s demand that [Cambridge International] exclude all references to gender and sexual orientation”. Nor did Cambridge International undertake any deliberate exclusion [that] amounts to a material change of AICE/Cambridge’s Psychology course”.
In fact, we have not changed our courses, exams, or teaching materials, including Cambridge International AS & A Level Psychology, in response to Florida’s new laws. Nor do we plan to. It is entirely untrue to state that Cambridge agreed to exclude references to gender identity and sexual orientation. We have previously made this clear in a public statement issued on our own website on 3 August 2023 as well as to the College Board and the authors of their Development Committee's statement.
We urge the College Board and its Development Committee to correct their untrue statement.
