Focus on Progress courses are for teachers who want to find out more about supporting learner progress in a specific Cambridge Primary or Lower Secondary curriculum.
What will I learn?
This course is designed to help you to develop and strengthen your understanding of the Cambridge Primary or Lower Secondary curriculum with a particular focus on supporting learner progress.
Under the guidance of an experienced Cambridge trainer, you will:
- learn about strategies to effectively monitor learner progress
- consider how to respond to the outcomes from monitoring learner progress
- identify opportunities to collaborate with teaching colleagues to develop a coherent approach to learner progress
- understand the support that is available from Cambridge.
You will also have lots of opportunities to share ideas with other Cambridge teachers.
Who is this course for?
This course is for teachers who are experienced teachers of the Cambridge curricula and have at least one year’s prior experience of Cambridge programmes. If you are a new Cambridge teacher or have not taught this programme for a number of years, we strongly recommend you attend one of our other courses instead.

In preparation for the course, please download the course materials to a laptop in advance - these are usually available 2 weeks before the course start date. To locate the materials, log in to the Professional Development Booking Portal, go to ‘My Bookings’ and click on the course – a link to download the materials will then appear. Please ensure you bring the device with the downloaded materials with you to the course.

LanguageÂ
This course will be delivered in English. English language competence comparable to Level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is necessary to fully participate. We recommend a minimum requirement of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Further information may be obtained through the Council of Europe website.Â
