About the University of Technology Sydney
‘The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is the leading technology university in Australia, and among the top 100 universities in the world. Through its future-focused approach to learning and research, UTS prepares students for the challenges of today and tomorrow. Located in Sydney’s technology precinct, UTS is minutes away from the city’s business district and some of Australia’s most innovative companies and startups.’
Undergraduate courses
‘UTS offers over 130 undergraduate and 210 postgraduate courses across traditional and emerging disciplines such as architecture, built environment, business, communication, design, education, engineering, information technology, international studies, law, midwifery, nursing, pharmacy, science and trans-disciplinary studies.’
‘The Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation (BCII) is a unique combined degree that encompasses high-level critical and creative thinking, invention, complexity, innovation, future scenario building and entrepreneurship. These leading-edge capabilities are highly valued in the globalised world. You can find out more at Creative Intelligence and Innovation | University of Technology Sydney (uts.edu.au)’
Scholarships and other financial incentives
‘UTS offers a range of scholarships for international students undertaking an undergraduate coursework programme. Our scholarships are a combination of merit-based awards and tuition fee waivers. Undergraduate students from Europe may be eligible for a scholarship valued at up to 40 per cent off tuition fees. Most UTS international scholarships do not require a separate application to the application for course admission. Our website has full details on all scholarships available to international students, i.e. eligibility criteria, selection criteria, application period and process.’
International students
‘We have around 2000 international students each year and they mostly come from China, Vietnam, Korea, India and Nepal. UTS has a diverse group of students from over 70 countries and welcomes this diversity to the UTS student community.’
Cambridge students
‘From 2021 to 2023, we received around 700 applications from students with GCE A Level qualifications, steadily increasing each year by approximately 250 applications.’
Entry requirements
‘UTS accepts three Advanced Level (A2) subjects for admission. Rank on the GCE A Level is calculated based on the aggregate of the best three Advanced Level (A2) subjects where A*=6, A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1.
‘Please note that UTS does not accept Cambridge IGCSEs for admission into the undergraduate programmes. Students meet the UTS standard English language requirement if they have completed senior secondary studies comparable with the New South Wales Higher School Certificate in English.
‘Completing three GCE Advanced Level subjects is considered as completing Senior Secondary Studies in English, thus can meet the UTS English requirement.
‘You can find out more about the application process for international students on the Apply to UTS as an international student page.’
