Undergraduate courses
‘We offer over 30 undergraduate courses at the University of Cambridge covering more than 65 subject areas. Some of our more unique courses include Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic, and Land Economy. Our Design course, new for 2024, combines architecture, engineering and materials science in one degree giving students the opportunity to design solutions to environmental and societal challenges.’
International students
‘Approximately 25 per cent of our undergraduate students are from outside the UK, from almost 100 countries. We welcome students from across the world and we are used to assessing applications from students with qualifications from different countries.’
Scholarships and other financial incentives
‘Some financial support is available for international students through Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust awards; College awards; and country-specific scholarships. Most support is a partial contribution and is means-tested. Full information about the costs and financial assistance for overseas students can be found in the finance section of the international students’ part of our website.’
Cambridge International students
‘A Levels [including Cambridge International A Levels] are one of the many qualifications we accept at Cambridge, and you can find out more about our entry requirements on our website.
A Levels provide sound preparation for our range of undergraduate courses. We are looking for students with the academic ability and potential to thrive at the University, and one of the strengths of the Cambridge admissions system is its ability to assess all applicants individually. We will assess your academic record as part of the application process, and you can find out more about what we are looking for on our website.’
Entry requirements
‘Typically, offers for applicants with Cambridge International A Levels will be A*AA for our Arts and Humanities courses and Veterinary Medicine, and A*A*A in all STEM-related courses, plus Economics. An English language qualification is not required at the point of application. Our Admissions Tutors will assess applicants’ English language skills alongside their academic ability throughout the admissions process. If the assessor feels that the candidate could improve in a specific area, they may ask the candidate to achieve one of the English language requirements listed on our website as part of the conditions of an offer.
Completion of the Cambridge International Project Qualification (IPQ) will not normally be a requirement of any offer made but we would encourage applicants to take one as it will help them develop independent study and research skills valuable for higher education. For guidance and advice on subject combinations, we encourage students to contact the College they wish to apply to.’
