As the reviser you would check the assessment material at various stages to ensure it is appropriate and accurate.
The reviser is required to:
- evaluate the first draft of the assessment material. This includes:
- ensuring all syllabus requirements are met
- indicating all errors in content
- working through practical assessments and source data, as necessary
- making sure the level of difficulty is consistent with the qualification and with previous years
- ensuring parity of standards across components and across optional questions within a component
- contacting the product manager for advice if the content is felt to be sensitive or inappropriate
- submit a checklist to Cambridge, indicating where revisions should be made and where errors must be corrected within the agreed timescale
- attend, where necessary, a meeting at which the revised draft of the assessment material is evaluated and further revised
- check the first proof of the assessment material, ensuring that changes agreed at the meeting have been carried out, and indicating any errors
- carry out all these services in line with our instructions and schedules.
Individual roles and responsibilities may vary according to the requirements of the qualification. The product manager responsible for a specific syllabus may revise the role specifications. This role description simply gives a general overview of the work normally undertaken by a reviser.
