Online Enrichment Professional Development is for teachers and school leaders who have been teaching or implementing Cambridge programmes and qualifications for at least a year and would like to develop their practice in specific areas. This level of our training encourages teachers to reflect on and take greater responsibility for their teaching as well as become more innovative in their classroom practice.
The courses each focus on an area of teaching and learning such as Metacognition, Active Learning or Mentoring. Some of the courses have been differentiated into two courses, one for primary teachers and one for teachers of all other age groups.
Online Enrichment courses are 5 weeks long and focus on the following:
- Week 1: Introductions and overview of the area of teaching and learning covered in the course.
- Week 2: Exploring what it looks like in practice.
- Week 3: Preparing techniques to try in the classroom.*
- Week 4: Teaching practice and reflection.*
- Week 5: Planning the next steps to integrate learning in to teaching practice.
*Weeks 3 and 4 will involve putting what you have learned in to practice and reflecting upon the outcome. It is important that you have access to learners during these weeks.
Teachers should expect to spend 3 - 5 hours per week on the course.
Successful completion of this course is based on participation in collaborative activities with teachers from around the world. The discussions and activities each week are in groups. You do not need to be online at a particular time of day for our online courses, but we recommend that you access the course every day. To help you manage your time and aid collaboration, we provide clear guidelines so you know which days to carry out the activities for each week.
Participants who complete key weekly activities and engage fully in discussions throughout the course will receive a certificate.
- A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who complete some of the tasks on the course to a satisfactory level.
- A certificate of completion is awarded to participants who complete all the tasks on the course to a satisfactory level.
