Cambridge has partnered with the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to develop an education toolkit focused on promoting tourism as a subject in schools. The toolkit will provide methodology, teaching resources, textbooks and curriculum from leading organisations on the subject.
We were honoured to participate in the UNWTO's General Assembly in Uzbekistan in October 2023, which focused on tourism education and training. At the assembly, Sue Moffat, Head of Humanities & Social Sciences Portfolio, Qualifications Development for International Education at Cambridge, took part in a panel discussion on the crucial role of education in advancing the tourism sector. Ahmad Assaf, Senior Country Manager and Head of Ministry Relationships for Gulf, and Stephen King, Head of Education Reform, Europe & Pakistan, also represented Cambridge at the event.
This collaboration aims to enhance tourism education, develop skills and contribute to the development of the tourism sector. An important aspect of the partnership is that UNWTO member states can benefit from discounts on Cambridge travel and tourism resources.
