Over 250 teachers and school leaders took part in Cambridge Insights events in Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia in November to learn about the use and benefits of baseline assessment as part of the ‘complete assessment cycle’ from Cambridge.
The complete assessment cycle includes best practice use of baseline assessment (start of learning stage), formative/progress assessment (during learning stage), and summative assessment (end of learning stage).
Adding baseline to the assessment cycle provides teachers and school leaders with powerful insight into student potential. Armed with objective data about individual strengths and areas for improvement, schools are empowered to implement effective teaching and learning strategies that can have a measurable impact on academic outcomes.
The workshops were designed to be interactive and engaging, using active learning techniques to increase data and assessment literacy and inspire attendees to recognise the critical role that baseline assessments can play in the Cambridge Pathway. Teachers who already use baseline assessment shared their experiences and success stories, highlighting the positive impact of the actionable insight these assessments provide.
