The Cambridge MENA team has kicked off the new academic year with a series of online and face-to-face orientation sessions for Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary schools that have adopted Cambridge resources. The sessions aim to advance our educational mission by supporting and empowering Cambridge teachers.
A total of ten sessions were held, gathering 1,000 participants from across the region to provide a comprehensive overview of our resources and the integration of our key approaches to learning within them, all tailored to schools’ needs.
During the sessions, some of the newly recruited Cambridge trainers from last year's MENA recruitment event tapped into their expertise, focusing on advanced pedagogical topics such as active learning and metacognition.
The face-to-face sessions focused on assessment for learning, aiming to shift teachers' mindsets from relying solely on quizzes and exams to using Cambridge resources to enhance teaching and learning. The sessions held in Egypt and Jordan included newly recruited Cambridge trainers, who had the opportunity to observe and share their feedback with Nahla AlMalki, Professional Development Manager for Cambridge Education Resources.
The teachers found the hands-on nature of the workshop, along with the 'loop input' element, truly enriching. Here are examples of the feedback received:
This series of free orientation sessions for Cambridge resources will run until the end of December 2024. For details of upcoming professional development courses in MENA, please see the events calendar.
