The recent Cambridge Principals Forum in Pakistan took place in three cities simultaneously. The Forum, organised by Cambridge Assessment International Education and the British Council, was held jointly in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, and looked at the latest developments in the Cambridge curriculum.
Uzma Yousuf, Country Director, Pakistan, spoke about Cambridge programmes and qualifications, explaining that they develop the critical thinking skills of students. She said: “The universal recognition of Cambridge programmes enables students to pursue studies at top universities in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and other countries.
The session run by Val Sismey, Head of Recognitions, developed this theme. She talked about admissions requirements in Pakistan, commenting on how well Cambridge students perform in the admissions tests set by leading universities. She also explained the admissions procedures of universities in the UK and the US.
Nuzhat Saleem, Senior Executive Principal at Lahore Grammar School Defence, spoke about her experience of Cambridge programmes in her school. She said: “Cambridge programmes are instrumental in developing analytical, creative, and reflective abilities in students so that they delve deeper beyond text books for a higher level of understanding".
