Four Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards ceremonies took place in China on 15, 17, 23 and 25 November 2023 to recognise and celebrate the academic achievements of Cambridge learners in the June 2023 Cambridge exam series.
In total, 146 award winners attended the ceremonies in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong SAR, along with their families, school leaders and teachers. This was also Cambridge's first post-pandemic award ceremony in Hong Kong SAR.
Dr Jing Zhao, Regional Director, East Asia for International Education at Cambridge welcomed everyone to the events. She spoke about the value of the education that Cambridge provides – not only developing knowledge and understanding, but also skills, attitudes and behaviours to help students thrive in life. With these attributes, Cambridge learners are ready for the world.
Elizabeth Cater, Director, Global Marketing and Ian Harris, Director, Brand, Communications & Advocacy for International Education at Cambridge attended the ceremony in Shenzhen, China and presented awards to winners.
In her speech, Elizabeth said: ‘It is a great honour to attend the ceremony and to see Cambridge learners achieving such outstanding results.’ She said she hoped that their Cambridge education will empower and inspire them to continue to gain more enlightenment and knowledge, and that they will ‘be able to use this enlightenment and sacred knowledge to play their part in shaping the world.’
The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards recognise the exceptional performance of learners around the world in Cambridge exams. The awards reflect the talent and hard work of learners and acknowledge the dedication and commitment of their teachers and parents.
