We have recently launched a new community initiative to support Programme Leaders in Cambridge Professional Development Centres in South Asia.
Programme Leaders play a crucial role in the success and quality of Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications (PDQs). They are responsible for designing and developing PDQ programmes, and monitoring candidates’ progress.
Regional Director, South Asia, Ruchira Ghosh, initiated the first ‘Programme Leader Circle’ meeting at Nahar International School, Mumbai, India on 29 April 2017. The session focused on supporting Programme Leaders to gain better understanding of the assessment of candidates’ work, and developing collaboration between Programme Leaders in the region.
Facilitated by an expert from the UK, the event brought together Programme Leaders from South Asia, China and the UK for the first time. Around 24 Programme Leaders from different PDQ Centres attended the session, with seven Programme Leaders joining online.
Anjali Balan, Programme Leader for the Cambridge PDQ in Teaching and Learning at Nahar International School said: 'As I have just begun my journey to become a Programme Leader, I took a lot away from this event. I saw some of the common challenges we all face and some unique strengths too. The session also gave me insight into writing the Reflection Journal.'
Another meeting will be scheduled for July 2017 due to the encouraging response from the Programme Leader community. It will focus on mentoring colleagues in schools.
