We have also published frequently asked questions about using the Grade Submission System, and we will add to these regularly.
Post-results checks and appeals
We have now published updated guidance on the post-results and appeals services we will be offering to centres using school-assessed grades for the November 2021 series.
Before you apply for a post-results check
If you, or a student, parent or guardian, have any doubts or concerns about a student’s school-assessed grade after the publication of results, you may need to complete a Centre Review before you can apply for a post-results check or appeal. You can find more information in our Post-results checks and appeals for school-assessed grades: The Centre Review Factsheet.
Post-results checks
Post-results checks provide an opportunity for you to amend a candidate’s grade or to request a review of the grade awarded. We only accept requests for post-results checks if they are submitted by a centre - not directly from candidates or their parents. There are three types of post-results check.
Appeals
If a centre, parent, legal guardian, or candidate continues to have concerns following a post-results check, we offer three types of appeal.
You can find more information about each of our post-results checks and appeals in our supplement to the Cambridge Handbook: Guidance on post-results checks and appeals for school-assessed grades in the November 2021 series and on our website.
You can also see our deadlines for submitting post-results checks and appeals for the November 2021 series.
June and November 2022 series
Preparing a portfolio of evidence in case exams cannot take place
In our update on 30 September we explained that in countries and regions of countries, where exams cannot take place, we will ask schools to submit a portfolio of three substantial pieces evidence for each student. This will be marked by Cambridge International examiners.
Given the uncertainty that still surrounds the pandemic, we recommend that schools have a portfolio in place for their students, in electronic form, by the start of the exam series.
We know that you may have questions about gathering evidence for your students, and we plan to publish more guidance to help you with this by 19 November.
School webinars – our approach to using Portfolios of Evidence for June and November 2022
We are running webinars on Wednesday 24 November, where we will provide more information about collecting evidence, and answer your questions about the overall process.
