11 Aug 2020
We have issued the results of our June 2020 series today. This update contains resources to support schools with issuing those results to students, as well as communicating the process for awarding grades this year. It also has more advice on post-results checks.
From everyone at Cambridge International, we would again like to express our deepest thanks to all of you in the Cambridge community for the enormous amount of hard work that has gone into awarding grades in this series. We urge you to keep in touch with us where you have questions.
We will update schools again on 19 August 2020.

Statement about results from the June 2020 series
We have published a statement about results from the June 2020 series. Altogether more than 950,000 grades were issued today, to almost 4,000 schools in 139 countries. Christine Özden, Chief Executive, said: “I would like to thank our schools and teachers for the huge amount of effort they put into supporting our awarding process for the June 2020 series, which has enabled us to provide students with reliable and trusted grades this year.” Read the full statement.
Video message for students from Christine Özden
Our Chief Executive, Christine Özden, has recorded a short video message for students to mark this year’s results day. You can see the video on our website. Please feel free to share it with your students and school community.
Understanding our statistical standardisation process
To make sure schools can understand our process fully, today we are able to publish a full explanation of the statistical standardisation process that we have followed to award grades for this series. It also sets out the mathematical formula that we have used, and points out any exceptions to the standardisation model.
We hope you will find this useful in understanding how we have awarded grades in this series.
Post-results checks guide
In this step-by-step video, Amy Cook, Training Lead for exams officers, explains how to submit June 2020 post-results checks through Cambridge International Direct.
Post-results checks 2 – additional guidance
The post-results checks available to schools for the June 2020 series are different from those available in a normal series and we shared information with you about the new services in our communication of 29 July.
We have produced further guidance to explain what service 2 has been designed to address and to help you work out if your candidates are eligible for the service for a particular syllabus. You can find the ‘Further guidance on post-results check service 2’ document on our website.
Post-results checks for Cambridge Associate schools
For Cambridge Associate schools, please be aware that if you wish to apply for post-results checks, please do so via your Cambridge Associate, rather than directly to Cambridge.
Exams officer update webinar
To help answer your questions about June 2020 results, we will be running a series of webinars for exams officers in the week commencing 17 August. The webinars will include an explanation of our standardisation and post-results checks and appeals process. Exams officers will also have the opportunity to ask questions. We will email exams officers tomorrow (12 August) with more information, including the dates, time slots and sign-up forms.
