The Cambridge exams cycle

The Cambridge exams cycle shows you what activities need to happen at each stage to successfully deliver an exam series.

Before the exam

To get ready for the series ahead you will:

1. Timetable exams
   
2. Enter candidates for Cambridge exams
   
3. Conduct internal assessments and submit samples and marks for coursework
4. Prepare for the exam day
5. Organise your exam materials (need to check link)
   

On exam day

1. Plan what to do before, during and immediately after each exam
2. Despatch scripts
   

After the exam

When all the exams in the series are complete:

1. Prepare for results day
2. Manage things on the day
   
3. Understand the results you’ve received
   
4. Distribute certificates (need to check link)

Systems for exams officers

We use several systems to administer our exams, including:

• Cambridge International Direct (>Direct): to submit entries, marks and questions, and view fees.
• Submit for Assessment: to submit work for many of our subjects, including Cambridge Global Perspectives
• Secure Exchange: to submit work for exams, such as Cambridge International AS & A Level Information Technology
