Results for the pre-selection test for entry to the Presidential Schools are available below.

Results are presented by region. To find your result, open the correct .pdf file and search for your candidate identifier.

Results are shown in rank order from highest to lowest, with candidates shaded in blue proceeding to the main Presidential Schools Admissions Test.

How is the rank order calculated?

Because of huge interest in the Presidential Schools, not all candidates can be assessed at the same time and therefore they cannot all sit the same test. Rasch analysis is used to create an ability score which allows all the candidates to be ranked independent of the test that they sat. Instead of candidates being ranked based on their actual score out of 30, they are ranked based on their Rasch ability score, which in this case is reported on a scale out of 100.

Where more than one candidate has the same ability score for the whole test, they are ranked in the following order:

The candidate who scored highest on Questions 21-30 (Question Type C).
(If still tied) the candidate who scored highest on Questions 11-20 (Question Type B).
(If still tied) the candidate who scored highest on Questions 1-10 (Question Type A).

If the candidates’ scores are still tied, the younger candidate will be ranked higher.

Please note that while candidates are ranked according to their unrounded ability scores, the .pdf files show ability scores which are rounded to one decimal place.
