Cambridge IGCSE™ Statistics provides learners with knowledge of basic statistical ideas, skills, methods and terminology. It encourages learners to develop an enquiring approach and to scrutinise the information they encounter, whether in their studies or in day-to-day life.
The syllabus:
- promotes the use of different representations of statistical data appropriate to the context and the requirements of the analysis
- exposes learners to different statistical calculations and methods of analysis
- enables learners to identify the impact of assumptions made when performing statistical analysis
- builds knowledge of basic principles and uses of probability
- gives an understanding of trend and time series
- provides a strong foundation for further study in statistics or subjects underpinned by a statistical base.
