The Cambridge International AS Level Tamil syllabus enables learners to achieve greater fluency, accuracy and confidence in the written language, and improve their communication skills.
They will learn how to improve their use of Tamil in a variety of situations, understanding how to read texts and other source materials, and how to extract information, and respond to questions in writing.
The syllabus year refers to the year in which the examination will be taken.
We are withdrawing Cambridge International AS Level Tamil Language (8689) from the June exam series. The last June series for this syllabus will be June 2026.
From 2027, we will only offer this syllabus in the November exam series to Mauritius centres.
We communicated this change to schools in September 2023.
We support the work of the national education authorities in Mauritius to provide national assessments for their learners in secondary schools.
Cambridge International AS Level Tamil Language (8689) will continue to be available in the November exam series for schools in Mauritius only.
