Cambridge Primary starts your child on an exciting educational journey, setting out what they should be able to do at each stage of their primary schooling. It is the first stage of our Cambridge Pathway programme that prepares students with the knowledge and skills they need for life, helping them thrive at school, university and work.
Why Cambridge Primary?
- With 10 subjects to choose from, including English, mathematics and science, our primary programme provides an excellent foundation for the next stage of education, as well as plenty of opportunities to develop creativity, expression and personal wellbeing in a variety of ways.
- Cambridge Primary provides a robust foundation for students at the beginning of their schooling before progressing through the Cambridge Pathway in an age-appropriate way, so your child will feel confident that they are ready for the next step of their education.
- The programme encourages learners to understand their own culture, community and identity within the wider world. Subjects like Cambridge Global Perspectives™ nurture a broad outlook, helping your child to understand their own culture, community and identity as well as those of others in different parts of the world.
- Cambridge Primary is flexible, so your school can build a programme that adapts to your child’s needs and works with your local context.
- We make sure that the programme, from curriculum to teaching, learning and assessment, is aligned and informed by the latest research. This way, your child can enjoy a richer learning experience and develop as a life-long learner.
Monitoring performance with Cambridge Primary Checkpoint
Cambridge Primary Checkpoint is designed to assess learners at the end of Cambridge Primary. It gives valuable feedback on learners’ strengths and weaknesses before they progress to the next stage of education and provides schools with an external international benchmark for learner performance. These external tests are marked by Cambridge International and each learner receives a statement of achievement from us.
A global community
With the Cambridge Primary programme, your child is joining a global community of learners from more than 2000 schools in over 120 countries. To find a school near you go to www.cambridgeinternational.org/findaschool
