Applying with Cambridge qualifications
Universities in Nigeria recognise and welcome applications from students holding Cambridge qualifications.
Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge O Level
Students wanting to apply to study at a Nigerian university are required to present a minimum of five relevant Cambridge IGCSE or Cambridge O Level subjects from no more than two sittings/exam series. In addition, students must take the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination (the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)) and obtain the approved cut-off mark for that year. The cut-off mark is set annually, and students need to make sure they know this mark for the year in question.
Cambridge International A Level
Students with at least two passes at Cambridge International A Level and a minimum of five Cambridge IGCSE or Cambridge O Level subject passes from no more than two sittings/exam series are able to apply for Direct Entry into Level 200 at a Nigerian university. Students are required to register and pay for a Direct Entry form via the JAMB website only. Relevant Cambridge IGCSE/O Level and Cambridge International A Level certificates should be uploaded during this process. The preferred course and university are captured during this application and a written test or interview is likely to be required as part of the university admissions process.
More information
We advise students to check with their institution of choice directly for the most up-to-date information on admission requirements for undergraduate programmes, as these may differ greatly for each university, faculty and programme.
JAMB and universities in Nigeria can verify student results via Cambridge International Direct. Universities can apply for access via the Verification of students' results page of our website.
