Even in high achieving classrooms, students face a wide range of barriers to their learning. Highly effective teachers have a good understanding of the impact of these barriers and are able to shape their teaching in a way that helps all students achieve their full potential.

Bookings received less than 28 days before the workshop start date will be charged at the full registration price. Please note, registrations will close 7 days before the workshop starts. Content
During this workshop we will:
- Explore a range of barriers to learning and consider the impact of these barriers on the learning experience.
- Explore practical responsive approaches to support learners to overcome these barriers.
- Draw on your own knowledge, subject expertise, and your learners to identify impactful and sustainable approaches to embedding inclusive practice in the classroom.
We ask participants to complete reading and reflection activities before attending the workshop. Details of these tasks will be sent through once your booking has been confirmed.
Who are the workshops for?
This workshop is for subject teachers working with students at secondary or senior level who want an introduction to good practice in this area. It is also suitable for Heads of Department or senior leaders who want to further their understanding in this area.
This workshop is not designed to be specialist training for Special Educational Needs Coordinators.

The workshop complements the PDQ Certificate in Teaching and Learning (6208).

Language
This workshop will be delivered in English. All candidates should have English language competence comparable to Level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). We recommend a minimum requirement of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System. Further information may be obtained through the Council of Europe website.
