Online Introduction courses

Online Introduction courses are 5 weeks long and teachers should expect to spend 3–5 hours per week on the course.

To complete this course, you will take part in collaborative activities with teachers from around the world. The discussions and activities each week are in groups. You do not need to be online at a particular time, but we recommend you access the course every day. To help you manage your time we provide guidelines so you know when to complete the activities for each week.

Participants who complete key weekly activities and engage fully in discussions throughout the course will receive a certificate.

• A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who complete some of the tasks on the course to a satisfactory level.
• A certificate of completion is awarded to participants who complete all the tasks on the course to a satisfactory level.

To encourage meaningful discussions between participants and the course tutor, our online courses are limited to 25 participants per session.

• Week 3: Long and medium term planning.
• Week 4: Using the Scheme of work and preparing lessons.
• Week 5: Teaching approaches and creating resources and activities.

Cambridge International AS Level

The courses focus on the following areas:

• Week 1: Introductions and overview of the syllabus.
• Week 2: Assessment of the syllabus, marking exercises and using past paper materials.
• Week 3: Long and medium term planning.
• Week 4: Using the Scheme of work and preparing lessons.
• Week 5: Teaching approaches and creating resources and activities.

Cambridge International A & AS Level

The courses focus on the following areas:

• Week 2: Assessment of the syllabus, marking exercises and using past paper materials.
• Week 3: Long and medium term planning.
• Week 4: Using the Scheme of work and preparing lessons.
• Week 5: Teaching approaches and creating resources and activities.

Cambridge International A Level

The courses focus on the following areas:

• Week 1: Introductions and overview of the syllabus.
• Week 2: Assessment of the syllabus, marking exercises and using past paper materials.
• Week 3: Long and medium term planning.
• Week 4: Using the Scheme of work and preparing lessons.
• Week 5: Teaching approaches and creating resources and activities.

This training will be delivered in English. All candidates should have English language competence comparable to Level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). We recommend a minimum requirement of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System. Further information may be obtained through the Council of Europe website.
