Serena Spitalieri is the Head of the Credential Evaluation and Information Center within CIMEA, the official Italian centre belonging to the NARIC – National Academic Recognition Information Centres – network of the European Union, and the ENIC – European National Information Centres – network of the European Council and of UNESCO.
She supervises the activities relating to the assessment of foreign academic qualifications and the verification of authenticity, with a particular focus on fraud and forensics.
Serena oversees the training activities of the Junior and Senior Credential Evaluators, and the training courses provided in Italy for university international admission officers in the field of internationalisation and recognition of qualifications.
She has research and teaching experience in the field of Fraudulent Documents and Diploma Mills, TNE and International Higher Education Systems, and Digitalisation.
Serena is a lawyer, holding an Executive Master in Design, Creativity and Social Practices from the Politecnico di Milano. She is currently a PhD student at the Department of Business Economics of the Roma Tre University, researching issues relating to the internationalization of university education systems: environmentally-friendly effects, digitalization, sustainability and new organizational models.
Serena is currently the President of APICE, the first Italian Professional Association of Credential Evaluators.
