Yvonne M. Romero da Silva is the Vice President for Enrollment at Rice University in Houston, Texas, US. She oversees the admissions, enrollment, and financial aid services for all undergraduate students.
Prior to joining Rice, Dr. Romero da Silva served as the Vice Dean and Director of Admissions at the University of Pennsylvania, as a corporate strategist and specialist in higher education enrollment services at the College Board and led minority recruitment initiatives at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Whittier College in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Romero Da Silva has gained national attention in the US for her successful strategic enrollment planning efforts and for the development of a new holistic evaluation process at the University of Pennsylvania.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from MIT, a master’s degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In 2017, she earned her doctorate degree in higher education administration from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
