Adele C. Brumfield is the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at the University of Michigan, US. A first-generation college graduate, she has spent 30 years promoting the transformative power of higher education to students around the world.
Prior to joining the University of Michigan, Brumfield was the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management at the University of California San Diego. She also held admissions positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Chicago, Denison University and Marquette University.
As a recognised leader in enrollment management, Brumfield actively works with higher education-focused organisations such as the Overseas Schools Project, funded by the US Department of State’s Office of Overseas Schools and the College Board. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Common App and on the advisory council for the College Board’s Access and Diversity Collaborative. Previously, Brumfield served as member and chair on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Board and president of the Wisconsin Association for College Admissions Counseling (WACAC).
Brumfield earned her BA in speech with a major in broadcast communication from Marquette University, supported by the university’s Educational Opportunity Program, and a MA in telecommunication from Michigan State University.
