Gcinumzi Haduse is the Director of Admissions at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and a proud alumnus. With over two decades in education, he began his career as a dedicated high school teacher, spending 15 years in the classroom before transitioning to higher education.
He joined UCT as a Student Recruitment Officer, later advancing to Student Recruitment Manager, and now leads the Admissions Office. Passionate about expanding access to higher education, Gcinumzi plays a key role in shaping UCT’s admissions policies. He serves on the Admissions Committee, ensuring fairness and inclusivity in the evaluation of all applications, particularly in assessing international school-leaving qualifications to uphold defensible and transparent admissions decisions. He also collaborates with Universities South Africa (USAf) to stay updated on exemption requirements for non-South African qualifications.
Beyond admissions, he remains deeply engaged in student life as a university residence warden, reinforcing his commitment to student success. His leadership ensures that UCT attracts top talent while fostering pathways for students from diverse backgrounds.
