Hanno Terao is the Associate Director of the Admissions Center at Waseda University. In charge of international admissions, he has made significant contributions to the University’s internationalisation since his appointment in 2022. He has facilitated collaboration among various departments within the University to enhance overall international admissions and recruitment strategies at Waseda.
Hanno has been an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences. From the 2020 to 2021 academic year, he served as the Academic Director of TAISI, the faculty’s English-based degree programme, overseeing admissions, curriculum development and public relations for students from diverse international educational backgrounds, including those who completed the A Level programme.
Hanno earned his PhD from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom in 2013. His area of expertise is intellectual history. In 2014, he received the Research Award from the Japanese Society for the History of Social Thought.
