Masahiro Yamaguchi is Vice President for Education Reform and Global Engagement at Tohoku University, Japan. He is also Director of the Advanced Graduate School, Director of the Global Learning Center and the Center for Culture and Language Education in the Institute for Excellence in Higher Education, as well as Director of the International Strategy Office at Tohoku University.
Masahiro has played an important role in the internationalisation of the University, in particular in designing the international strategy and international education. He has devoted himself to the implementation of Tohoku University’s Top Global University Project.
Masahiro has been a professor at the Department of Physics in the Graduate School of Science since 2003. He received his PhD in Science from the University of Tokyo in 1990. His research area is theoretical particle physics and cosmology, and he was awarded the Nishinomiya-Yukawa Memorial Prize in 1996.
